Summer Mission Team

YTBC Mission Team - 2002

            Each year several members of York Terrace Baptist Church team up with members of a couple of other churches in Alabama to help build a new church or to add on to an existing church building some where in the United States.  The team in the picture above went to Pittsford, New York, to help with an addition to their original building which was also built by volunteers.  In 2003, we went to Huntington, Indiana, to help with an addition with their church as well.

While those who wish work at the construction site, the rest of the team usually works with Backyard Bible Clubs and/or Block Parties.  Their goal is to aid the local church in ministry to the children of the area.  Sometime they even do door-to-door visitation to invite children to the activities.  In 2003, we actually lead in providing a Vacation Bible School in a church in nearby Fort Wayne.

As of 2003, YTBC has participated in 14 such building trips.  The first trip was in 1990.  The states to which we have journeyed on mission trips include:  Louisiana, Iowa, Georgia, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and New York
